About the Event
Experience Métis is offering a free Métis Land Relationship and Stewardship teaching event at their new home on Highfield Regenerative Farm. They will talk about some weeds that are medicines and foods for the Métis people, including the plants brought over by our European ancestors that are invasive to Turtle Island. We will discuss how to deal with these invasive plants in a traditional way that is healthy for us, and our environment. These methods can be applied at home in your own garden in the yard.
This event is FREE, and for the teachings, we ask you help us pull some weeds.
You will need proper footwear, dress for the weather, bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.
All ages welcome, but please no pets. Highfield Regenerative Farm is a working farm so please be aware there are working tractors on site.
Beverages, gloves, and tools will be provided.
