Compost Week

Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week, and kick-off the 2023 farm season with us from May 7th-13th. We are hosting several events throughout the week and we hope to see you at all of them! Keep an eye on our social media accounts as well for fun giveaways and learning opportunities…

• Sunday May 7th, 11am-2pm – Open Farm Day and Tool Trade - Meet the folks of Highfield farm, tour the site, swap your tools, learn how to      repair/maintain your tools, buy seedlings and sign up to volunteer. [https://www.highfieldfarm.ca/event-details/open-farm-tool-trade]
• Tuesday May 9th, 4-7pm - Compost Club Talk & Turn + BONUS BBQ! - Join the first official COmpost Club meet up of the season! Chat compost, turn compost, BE COMPOST! (jk about that last one.) [https://www.highfieldfarm.ca/event-details/compost-club-talk-turn-2023-05-09-16-00] 
• Tuesday May 9th, 7-8pm – Calgary Horticultural Society Seed to Table: Let’s Make Compost! - Join Mike Dorion, Living Soil Solutions, to talk      about creating a healthy home compost using organic material collected from your kitchen and neighbourhood. • Friday May 12th, 6-8pm – Seeds, Soil & Soup! – Learn about the importance of seed saving and soil health from the Calgary Seed Library and Mike Dorion, the Compost Kid, plant a seed, and enjoy some soup. Space is limited! [https://www.highfieldfarm.ca/event-details/seeds-soil-soup]
